Opening of the Visual Arts Exhibition at the “20 de Octubre” Cultural Center

The opening of the visual arts exhibition at the “20 de Octubre” Cultural Center in Bayamo, Granma, was filled with deep satisfaction and heartfelt gratitude. It was a moment of collective celebration, where children, adolescents, and young people from the Cuban Association of People with Intellectual Disabilities (ACPDI) shared their ideas, creations, and dreams through the pilot sensory stimulation project Prisma de Luz, guided by the specialist Alexander, whose professional and human qualities deserve special recognition.

Expressing gratitude is essential, even if in the excitement of the moment we may not be entirely fair. Among the individuals and institutions that have contributed significantly, we wish to highlight:

  • Professor and researcher Rosi Smit from Monfort University (United Kingdom).

  • Attenborough Arts Centre gallery.

  • Daili, Deputy Director of Culture.
  • Yanetsi, Secretary of the Party in Bayamo.
  • Mariela and Maidelis, specialists in Special Education.
  • Alionusxa, Coordinator of the “Che Guevara” Special School.
  • Mili and Diurkis, from the University of Granma.
  • Alejandro, psychologist.
  • Mario, Director of the Toy Library.
  • The Municipal Directorate of Education.
  • The Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and the Women’s and Family Guidance Center.
  • Our journalist Lorena.
  • The University of Sports, represented by Professor Alain.
  • The associations of people with disabilities, who have shared their strength, experience, and commitment.

And of course, to our families, who trusted this process, motivated us, and continue to accompany us in the search for new ways to learn, grow, and feel proud.
