Repair workshop

One priority identified by ACLIFIM – the Cuban Association of People with Physical and Motor Disabilities – was a way for disabled people to be protagonists in resolving the problems obtaining and maintaining mobility equipment caused by resource shortages and the US blockade. The network has collaborated in creating and equipping a pilot repair workshop, where people can make, repair and personalise their mobility equipment with recycled and sustainable materials. We’re currently working on academic outcomes to assess the impact of the workshop and on a series of talks by the coordinator, José Alberto Sánchez Yalin for UK engineering students looking at sustainable and appropriate technology
