Last weekend in the city of Bayamo the first edition of the “Ponle Kfé” event, the flavor of the mountain, was held in support of the actions to achieve the declaration of Bayamo as a creative city in gastronomy.
A cooking contest

Visitors were able to enjoy a wide variety of gourmet dishes, from traditional dishes to innovative creations. The mixologists presented a series of creative cocktails based on coffee, this being the main ingredient to create delicious drinks.
The Ponle Kfe event was also attended by national and international speakers.
Inclusive participation
Inclusive participation was one of the characteristics of the event, since the cultural part was in charge of the “Friends for Hope” project, which brings together young people with intellectual disabilities. One of the competition participants presented a coffee-based cocktail and was recognized with a special mention for the combination of flavors achieved and the technical mastery demonstrated.
Gastronomy and inclusion
The participation of people with disabilities in events like “Ponle Kfé” is of vital importance to promote inclusion in our society. These spaces make the capabilities and talents of people with disabilities visible, breaking stereotypes and prejudices.
Creative and inclusive Bayamo
Without a doubt, the first edition of the Ponle Kfe event has been a success and another step on the path to ensuring that Bayamo is declared a creative city in gastronomy and recognized as an inclusive city.
